So all my time these last few weeks has been sucked down the black hole known as "getting ahead in real life." I've been totally slammed with school, studying for the GMAT, and now, as (if all that wasn't enough) I'm going back to work part time too. My old boss made me a killer job offer, in terms of pay, that I felt I couldn't really turn down. Hopefully it turns out ok, but so far so good.
Anyway, what all this means is that I've had zero time to devote to painting or playing games, and I guess the lack of updates here is a testament to that fact. Every day my Trolls look at me with sad, betrayed eyes, I've become like King Leto! Gah! :)
School should be finishing next week though, so that should free up a little bit of time, and I'm hoping that work falls into a regular rhythm so that I can at least get back to playing once a week and also a couple hours of painting a week.
In other news though, my wife got me the Dire Troll Mauler Extreme for my birthday! Woo! Can't wait till FedEx drops him off later today or tomorrow. Muahaha!

Hi there!
Welcome to my ongoing chronicles of my miniatures wargaming armies - modeling, painting, and battle reports. At the moment I'm working mostly on my Trollbloods warband for Hordes, but I'll also ocassionally post about other game systems too!
I don't claim to be a modeling, painting, or tactical master - just your average troll trying to scrape together some armies and to bash some heads in! Hopefully it'll be fun for you to follow along as well!

Congrats on the new job, hope you get time to do some Troll stuff too. I really feel your pain going up against Menoth, large armys seems to be a hell of a lot of trouble for the trolls?

Thanks Nicolai! Yea, Menoth can definitely be a handful for trolls because we have such a low model count. I've found what generally works best is to try and hit a small part of his army with all of yours. You can sometimes pull this off by using terrain or a table edge to block off one of your flanks.
Grim works pretty well too and pretty much lets you get the charge first if you want it by using his feat, which I must say is pretty nice.
Other than that, I still have no idea what to do about those dirty zealots...they just mangle me every time.
